Hi

With information gathered from this forum I have been able
to make GPRS and WAP work on my T68 with Cingular.

However I could not make it check my external email accounts.
I run my own POP3 server which I am trying to access. I've
set server IP as Incoming Server and 110 as icoming port. Howeve
it just says "Connecting to Server" and then fails with "Could not
connect to server message". I ran 'tcpdump' on server side port 110
and I do not see any connection attemptes. I guess Cingular just
does not let this connection to go through.

Following advise from some of earlier post I've attampted to
replace APN (currently 'wap.cingular') with 'internet' and 'internet.cingular' with no luck.

Did anybody managed to make it work with Cingular?
Any advice is appreciated.

I am not sure what you mean. Just went there
and there is a bunch of stuff, but nothing seems
to be useful to make my phone check email
every 30 minutes and notify me about new mails.

If you mean www.mywirelesswindow.com, that requires you to log in via WAP to view Email, and that takes too long, even with the "New Email" SMS alert.

Hi, I'm still new at this WAP thing also, but I've managed to make e-mail work on my T68i with cingular. You will need a dial-up account to do this.

Set your WAP to cingular's settings, and set your data account to your dial up account. On T68i this is found in: connect > data comm.> data accounts

Hope this helps. My isp is earthlink and it does work.

yes, I did make it work with dialup and earthlink,
but it is slow (connection time) and expensive (per minute charges).

Yes, but unfortunately it is the only way to access your Email through Cingular (By using GSM Data access through a dialup), until they decide to change that.

I have a T68i with Cingular service but I can't connect to GPRS. My GPRS status is "GPRS not allowed". Can anyone help me on this? Thanks

just make sure you got WIX2 [wireless internet express] GPRS activated. if u don't have it, call cingular and they will be more happy to add the feature for u. not free ofcourse.
