Hi,

I managed to get connected to the internet via infrared and my new Z600. he only thing is that I get such a slow connection 9.6k

On the box of my Z600 it says 65k, but i can't find anything in the manual saying what this is.

My laptop is a Compaq Evo N800v

Is this connection speed normal or is there anyway to boost it up.

Connecting at this speed is not worth connecting

Thanks for you help

if you are using dialup (i.e. to a normal telephone number) then thats the best you can hope for. if you are using GPRS then go to control panel, phone and modem options, click the modems tab, click on the modem you are using and then click properties. then click the modem tab and check the speed is 57600 or 115200

edit: thos instructions are on XP pro, but it will be something similar for windows 98 etc

OK, That is why.

I have now set up my computer up to accept GPRS with my Z600 and went to the part where i caould change the connection speed and now it offers me speed of up to 921 Kbps

How can that be possible? I have ADSL at home and that only offers 500 Kbps

Am I missunderstanding something here?

thats just a maximum setting, its not actually the speed that will be used as that is dependant on what modem/hardware is being used for the connection

And the 65k thing on the box means that the screen has 65k colors, it has nothing to do with the connection speed.
