Ta mean thanks, a bit of a slang lesson there for you, hope you never come to New Zealand if you don't get English language slang, we don't speak anything else, all the English people where I work have real trouble understanding it, so it'd be a nightmare for you. He he I kept expecting some of it to come out of Jango Fett's mouth in Star Wars, he's a really well known Kiwi actor.....

I heard that NZ is a cool place, and that sheeps outnumber the people. If i get a chance, it's one of the places i wanna visit

I just downloaded Mandrake Linux 8.3 & put em on cd. when I boot up with the first cd, I select setup then it does the testing & says theres some sort of hardware error?????

v8.3? i think the latest version of mandrake is only 8.2

hehehe, well, it's not the usual point and click stuff most of us have been used to. it's even a challenge for even those who take pride of themselves as windows techies

I know it's going back in time a little but have you tried building a boot/root floppy set and booting from that?

i havn't tried that but I don't see whay I need to. Linux boots up perfectly. Says ' click enter to contune'. I do that. Does a hardware check & gives me that message.

Actually, linux hasn't booted yet. Try the boot floppy routine instead
