Hey all,
Just a report, that my VoiceStream GPRS is working in the UK, on T-Mobile, and also O2 (formerly one2one).
It did not work in Switzerland on any carrier.

Should we get prepaid SIM's with carriers overseas when our carriers (especcially ATT) have limited roaming agreements? |

You should get prepaid SIMs when you want to get better airtime rates, and a local number. Prepaids, at least in the UK and Switzerland do not include GPRS, and only some include WAP capabilities.
At least with VoiceStream (not sure about AT&T), you can always call forward your US GSM number into your local prepaid, and if you have the old international rates it doesn't matter much, but if you have the world class crap roaming rates, it is much cheaper to forward to a local SIM, as the forwarding call rate is cheaper than 99c roaming.
