My girlfriend recently bought a Samsung C100 (despite me trying to get her to buy a T610 ) Anyway, when she receives an SMS the alert continues to ring until she reads the message which is rather annoying.

Does anyone know if this can be turned off and if so how? I've looked through the manual and at the Samsung website but neither says anything.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for that very helpful post.

I'm sure there are some Esato users who have had experience with the phone which is why I'm asking here first. If nobody has an answer then I'll try somewhere else.

first you have to go to the menu sound settings (menu 3) then menu 2 messages then menu 1 short message, there you see menu 3 repetition: choose once there. If you want the same for mms choose in the menu messages mms and there repetion also once. I hope this works for you cause this was on my e700

I have a c100. This function suits me wright. When im not near the phone i dont hear the tone and it helps me if i dont check the display. Anyway you cant stop this repetition but you can turn off the message tone from menu3 go to message tone and then to sms. If you have any more queries pm me. Tip to see memory type this *#9998#627837793# an er comes up and now go to menu 4.2.4 surprise! But be carefull use only option 8 !'
