Hi All.
I am a virgin Ericsson man (been Motorola, and (mostly) Nokia before), just got a T68 (Orange one) to replace 6210. V Impressed!!

Firstly I really need to unlock the phone so I can use it with my French Pay as you go SIM). Loads of companies offered Nokia unlocking services but I havent seen any for Ericsson yet. Is it as simple to unlock an Ericsson as a Nokia? (BTW getting Orange to unlock it officially is out of the question as have just started new contract so they would charge me about 200 pounds for it!)

My second problem is with the built in E mail reader. I have setup all my server details correctly, and tried connecting through both GPRS and GSM, but the phone always crashes on Connecting to Server. I have tried other servers, same result.

Any tips?

Thanks for reading such a long post.

Ali

I don't know where you are, but normally there are quite a lot of shops or places online, where they can unlock your phone for about 30 EURO or less... check it up online from where you are....

I have done some checking out for you. I'm sorry to bring bad news.

But I can't find anywhere that will unlock your T68 for you in the UK. So I though maybe there would be some software to download maybe that would do the job. I can't even find that.

Sorry Mate.

i have got a demo version of the
Universal SP Unlocker....
(downloaded it as night, forgot from what site...4+ MB)

but i dont know how to use it yet...

maybe you can try that... but there is no T68 in its menu....

you can let the search engine do the search for you...

About the email-part :

Have a look in this forum :

GPRS/WAP/EMAIL-SETUP

You should be able to find some answers here.

You can also try the "search" function (in the upper right corner).
----------------------

My email works with gprs,..both sending and recieving.

You need to make a specific data-account for email,..cant use the wap-account.

With the smtp-server, one should use the smtp-adress (ip-number) of the phone/gprs operator. (use ip-number instead of the name)
I use this and it works fine.

In the pop3-server, I have "of course", the internet-providers pop3-adress.

Just a few hints

Hey guys! Have you checked the Email Configurator at ???

You can send the Email settings over the air here: https://secure.mouse2mobile.com/clients/ericsson/jv/email/

This just might help.

I have also heard that there might be some problems with the security settings of some email providers. You might want to check that.
