I just got this from O2 and was about to do it, but when O2 text you, dont you get the message saying O2 alert? Here yuo go anyway:
REMINDER FROM O2: To get 2.50 pounds free call credit and details of great offers pls reply 2 this text with your valid name, nouse no and postcode.
Word for word. Real or Dodgy!

sounds 2 me like registering the fone, and o2 give u 2.50 when u register, i'd say go 4 it
