Can someone please clarify the Motorola v500 SMS memory? |

Hey
I'm looking to upgrade to a Motorola v500 from a Siemens M55, but I've read in a review that the phone only stores SMS messages on the SIM - is this right? I get unlimited texts so this is mostly what I do, but only being able to store 20 is pathetic at best.

The V600 is sim only memory, so I take it the V500 is the same.
Future firmware upgrades may address this problem. |

Do you think that's likely? I can imagine Motorola getting a few complaints because of this 'feature' |

Even the old Nokia 7110 (launched in 1999) can store 150+ SMS's on the phone memory and more on the SIM  |

I've read somewhere about 'Flexing'. Does this mean it'll change use some of the phone's memory for text messages? |

Flexing is just like flashing. I don't think it can change it to use Phone memory for sms. But this is not the best forum for information on Moto phones.

my v525 (flashed v600) holds about 35.
i reckon its still sim card memory after flex/flash - phone memory is 10% full. |

My old Motorola V66 was able to store 15 on the phone and a further 15 on the sim card
