Not too sure what you mean, but my guess is that COM port 1 and 2 are the ports on the back of your computer, and therefor your bluetooth won't connect to them.

To solve this, go into my bluetooth places, then bluetooth wizard. Click i know the service i want and go to next. Choose your phone as the device to connect to. Click OK, and it should add a new COM port on the computer. When you go back into bluetooth places there will be a picture of a cable with your phone name on it, under it will be the number of the COM port, (mine is com port 6). Double click to connect to phone, and this will connect your phone to the virtual com port, you then set up the program your are using to connect to this COM port.

Hope This helps

Ok, i'm guessing this is the 'wizard' but it does not allow me to create a new com port, only use existing ones :S

Strange, what happens when you click the existing ports? That wizard looks totally different from mine

**edit** When you go into the wizard do you get the choice of

I know the service i want to use and i want to find a etc ect ect

I want to find a specific bluetooth device and configure how etc etc etc.

If you do get the choice of these 2 +more, make sure you choice the first one i listed.

Have you got the phone paired with the PC, if not this could be the problem, with why it wont connect. Easiest to pair using the phone.

Yeah, might be better then to see if you can get better software, or see if anyone using this software can help you.

You can always disable the COM ports on your motherboard, if they are not being used.

I know it's a bit late here - but if anyone else googles their way into this thread with the same issue - I just resolved it now by using a different port than the one suggested by the bluetooth wizard (it suggested COM8 - when I changed this to COM9 it worked)

Alex
