I've got a love-interest in another country, and actually (wow?:D) we keep in contact via SMS during the days!
It's quite wonderful how much can fit within 160 characters, though it's not a replacement for "the real thing"! (the distance *is* hard indeed ) |

@fluffybunny- I guess conversing via 'chat' / 'email' is more convenient, appropriate, less expensive and has a more 'romantic' touch - don't you think so ? That's how I get in touch with my Russian friend - Jelena . . .

@jojo51069: Well, we talk every day over MSN and such, and the phone quite often too (thank god for cheap phonecards, eh?!)
We tried to use "Skype", but her connection (56K) and computer didn't really allow us to use that one for voice-chat.
Anyways, as I can send her free SMS from http://web2sms.otenet.gr it's quite good in that aspect! |

@fluffybunny - Speaking of 'cheap' fone cards, well, I am using a 'cheap' prepaid internet card eversince - YES! it's very cheap and practical to use. Only US$9.50 for 130 hours of usage, expires after 3 months from first log-in. Well, I guess that being connected via SMS is an ideal way of communicating too, but I am more of a 'photo' guy rather than sweety words. Can you send MMS as well then ? Using a fone with cam and send it instantly, that would be just great as well. |

I have 8Mbits dsl, so I can't use those dialup card etc. Also; here in Sweden you pay / minute as a standard practice, so every minute counts I'm afraid.
Of course, there are some "flatrate" accounts, but these are based on a minute price and the cost only covers x-hours.
About the MMS, read this http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=49669#post652323 thread I started to see what my experiences and opinions are about this! (sighs) |

I think that msn is better and cheaper, with webcam, speakers and micro you can have a good conversation

Of course MSN etc. is better than SMS / MMS, though this was not really the point!
If you first of all read what I've written, you wouldn't have written the above at all!
Second of all, she doesn't go online during the days due to her studies.
Third of all; sending MMS is quite sweet, it can be heartwarming to receive a "what I'm doing in this moment" kind of photo in one's phone!
Of course, *nothing* beats "the real thing"! |

Ever considered getting a bird that lives a bit closer?
Now the first thing i need to tell you is don't just go around decappitating zombies left right and center.

Well, I don't know if it works that way!
I mean, stuff develops and matters of the heart can't be controlled me guess...
I'd love to have her her though, but this will happen in a later stage... |

Better get an Eagle or a Falcon to be sure that your message will be delivered - uninterrupted ! A vulture will be good as well. |
