Hi - total newbie here so hopefully someone here can help!

I bought a p900 a week ago and I've just installed the version of Opera that comes in the disc. However, I cant seem to get it to connect to the internet. I have Vodafone live set up as GPRS and I can get WAP fine, but I havent got a clue when it comes to setting up internet on the bugger!

Should addresses have www in front? I am doing this!

Anyone help?

Hi and welcome to Esato

step 1. its prob worth downloading the latest version of opera from here since its a fairly recent new version.

step 2. you cannot use opera on a wap data account. you need to create a new data account with address "internet" (no quotes). no other parameters are required.

step 3. you will need to be sure with vodafone that the internet data account has been activated on your account

step 4. connect opera using that data account and it should all work fine!

good luck!

can you please tell me how to connect to the internet? my phone is p900. I went to sonyericsson.com/support. I already submit my phone number to them and receive the SMS for the automatic set up for my WAP. But I cannot connect to the internet. I've tried opera and it did not work. Can anybody help me????

you'll need to find out from your operator what the APN (and other settings) is for GPRS internet as you cannot use WAP for general internet access. They may also have to activate that for you on your account.

its then a simple process of going to control panel, connection, internet accounts, new and entering the settings there
