Status Request on SMS with O2 ? |
c4mark Joined: Mar 04, 2004 Posts: 17 PM |
Have just moved from the Vodaphone network to O2 on my T610.
The status request works on VODAPHONE, but doesn't work with O2 for some reason. Is there any setting I should check as I have this enabled ?
Thanks

welcome to Esato
there are many many posts on this. you need to start your message with *0# to get O2 status messages

I can't help you further as I am not using O2, just regurgitating info from other posts. Maybe someone else can jump in here? or you can just try a couple of messages to yourself to see what happens

sorry to be such a pain, thanks for the help
yep it looks as though you have to put the *0# in the text, and it sends a txt back to you when the message is delivered
thanks again

Yes you DO have to turn delivery reports OFF....Type *0# then leave a space and type your message

Pitty you have to put that in, its a bit of a pain in the ass! I moved from orange PAYG 2 O2 online. I would have prefered to stay with orange because of their superior coverage but my pocket can't deck with oranges international txt pricing changes :-(! O2 online + international talk & txt works out much cheaper for me. I love their charges but not their (O2s) coverage and viceversa for Orange! Proves u can't have ur cake and eat it!

I have spoken to O2 about the issue with the delivery reports. They said that O2 has been going for years and they have never had delivery reports enabled, and they won't make changes to their network just because one person asks them to. Great customer service eh? Does this mean they will make the change if enough of their customers ask them to? Surely O2 should be anticipating the needs of their customers rather than waiting for us to tell them how to run their network.
I don't see what their problem is, because they obviously have the delivery report facility on their network, otherwise you wouldn't be able to receive delivery reports using the "*0#" prefix.

We should make a petition to show that its not just one person that wants delivery reports. iken
