T610 over infra red port !!! |

I just got T610 and i want to use it as modem to access internet via my infrared port. i have installed modem software and my comp recognises the handset... but i am not able to connect as it gives following error
"TCP/IP CP reported error 738 : server didnot assign ip address "
SURPRISINGLY I CAN EASLY CONNECT WITH SAME SETUP .. WHEN I USE MY T68I.... !!!

have you tried upgrading the driver you're using for the t610?

install the drivers that you got with the phone |

I assume you are using the same SIM on the T68 and T610. Well, could be the GPRS setup is wrong if you are using GPRS. |

okay...go to control panel>phones & modems> modems>
select the IR modem > properties> diagnostics> querymodem
once the query is run...scroll down and check if the server name is the one that ts supposed to dial....usually you will get an error 738 if its incorrect
