Wow, reading this story was interesting. I personally could care less for it, though, cause I've got Photoshop and Theme Creator Pro, and the internet is so vast that you can basically find just about any kind of image that you need.

For the WAP'ers:

Snap that TV moment on your phone
NDS company Visionik, a developer of interactive TV services has launched a facility for sending images from TV's to mobile phones. Operators and broadcasters can offer Snapshot to their viewers so that they can ‘snap’ an image that they desire, from favorite TV shows, and use it as ’wallpaper’ on their mobile phones. Snapshot is unique because it allows the viewer to capture their special moment and content is protected by NDS’s mobile DRM VideoGuard based solution.

With Snapshot, viewers can freeze images, while watching TV, from their digital TV broadcast and have them delivered as ‘wallpaper’ to their mobile phones. Snapshot allows the viewer to take the shot that they want, when they want it – not just choose from a limited, predefined range of images, which is the current model in the Internet. The process is a click of the button on the remote control to capture a personalized image of a favorite pop star, sports personality or cartoon character. Enter a destination mobile phone number and the unique image will be delivered to that mobile. With the Snapshot edit module, images can be edited and previewed by the viewer before they are delivered via MMS or WAP push.

Snapshot can be deployed on multi-middleware platforms with the advantage of the NDS DRM solution, which gives operators the opportunity to enhance and expand their programming and revenues through the extensions of their media outlets.

“The launch of Snapshot is an exciting stage in the growth of interactive TV,” said Jesper Knutsson, VP Interactive TV Europe, NDS. “Visionik has created a service that will enable broadcasters to utilize their programming in new and diverse ways. Snapshot is a great way to add a new line to an operator’s interactive TV revenue stream, and we are expanding the service in-line with consumer upgrades to advanced mobile technology. Snapshot works with mobile phones that are currently in the market, but we will be ready to launch new Snapshot modules for personalized ‘tunes’ and ‘video’ as soon as an optimum penetration of capable mobile phones has been reached.”
