hey it has got I-mode so in holland they could buy it and use it a 100%
the can take picture's and send them directly on there I-mode website which they can make whit java. and they have got a 4096colourschreen. the only phone's in holland whit I-mode are a nec and a toshiba but they only have 256 colour schreen and don't java.
they design is japanese and the batery is kind of weak. they dont have bluetooth or IRDA the surf the I-mode web whit there laptop. but if they would have the P800 they would have the next best thing. only one small step to go for 3G

I-mode is a new online service, just like WAP but more interactive and in colour. In Holland/Germany it only works on GPRS with special I-mode compatible phones.

I don't know what mobilephone system they have in Japan (forgot about that)

Here is a FAQ page

The i-mode started in Japan and it is very popular there yes it is kinda 3G but the quality is very low U can for instance record animations and send it to another user I don't really know if U can send video in real time.

i-mode will come in France too, thanks to an agreement between Bouygues Telecom and DoCoMo...

Just to let you know...

In my opinion, I-mode is quite a useless 'invention'... I mean, what does it have that WML/XHTML Mobile don't have?

I-mode is ok but the I-mode phones suck.
Nokia has said not to support I-mode on future phone, but wap 2.0.
Don't think I-mode has a big future in europe, at least not with current I-mode phones.
I prefer my t68i (long standby, smaller, bt, IrDa, ......and way better design)

XHTML does the same thing and it's much more expandable.

I-mode sounds very attractive but here in Finland also GPRS is very cheap with small amouths of data of course but if U use ur GPRS phone as a modem to with your laptop U will transfer alot more data and it is sick expensive.
