theoretically, the limit would be the maximum that the installed database (and version) can hold. it depends on the filesystem and the OS, hence could differ from one installation to another.
if it is of any consolation, no one at esato seems to have reached that limit yet.
the most we've had as of this posting is 23,331 (Thread for UK users II).
number don't say anything about how informative (or uninformative) the posts are
