Hi,

I have just picked up an hpm-10 but I am having trouble installing the card writer. I keep getting this message

"device installation failed. This could be due to an existing installation of the same device. Unistall, reboot and install again"

Can anyone help me out with this?

Perhaps you should consult a qualified PC technician then.

Just get a USB or PCMCIA card reader, you can get them for around £10 from http://www.crucial.com/uk/sto[....]?attr=Flash%20Reader&cat=Flash that way you don't need the software or that big ass mass of cables that comes with the player.

make sure you have the card reader connected BEFORE you startup your PC. also, disable any disk management and antivirus utilities before you begin the installation. make sure you have all of the latest windows xp updates especially the application compatability update. that did the trick for me. hope this helps you and enjoy!
