Hey everyone.
I have a question about my sony ericsson phone. I have the T226. I was wondering if there is any way to put like a welcome note? On my other phones, they had welcome notes, but on this one i cant find it. Oh well. Oh ya another thing, my friend has the T306 or something like that, its green. Its really cool too. Which one is better? the t226 i have now or the t306 she has? She wants to trade me, but i dont know if i should or not. Let me know. Thanks.

Nope, can't put Welcome Notes on SE's. Wish that you could. I remember my old Nokia's. Everyone of them say "Wow, you really know how to turn me on Big Boy", or something to that effect.
The T226 has no infrared and no bluetooth. The only way to get your content onto there is via a cable, or via WAP. It sucks. It is smaller and sleeker looking, though.
The T306 however, has infrared, so at least you can transfer stuff through this. It is a bit bigger though.
Oh, and the T306 is marketed as having different faceplates. Yes, I know, most phones do have other faceplates. My T616 does. But SE doesn't condone these, and it will actually void your warranty. But they make the T306 so that you can change the faceplate. Kind of like a Nokia.....................

Hey. Thanks for replying. I have a prepaid plan, so i cant download anything off the net because cingular wont let me. So overall, do you think the 306 is better then?

Yeah, I guess the T306 is better. I like the T226's looks way better though.

The easiest way to do it would create a nice picture using the built in picture editing thingy with the text you wanted, save it, and then set it as a start picture

I have pictures that are already loaded in the one. Like the sony ericsson ball thing. I cant add text to that, how do i do it? i dont have the camera either, but i want it badly. I might get it from my friend. How is the picture quality on the T226? what about the 306? Thanks.

my dads vodaphone Z600 displays a welcome message and I cant see an option on my O2 Z600 is this part of vp's customisations? |

AC don't change it! The 226 has 512 colors and 306 only 256! Looks crap!

Yes sure it is. It has double the colors. Don't do the mistake of changing it! Regards :-D

i think that @rdnymllnsktr meant that  phones don't have audio welcome messages. you can change the start-up picture though.
@AC51687 - you can't add text to the ball with the phone screensaver because it's an animated gif. you would have to do it with an outside program. wou can add text to normal pics by pressing more or edit or whatever function the t226 uses.

Hey.
The animated gif one, wont bounce up and down. The only option i have with it is to put it as a wallpaper.Whats the use of having the animation if it doesnt even work?? Another thing, i dont understand what your saying about the normal pics. Like there are pictures already loaded that i can use for a wallpaper, but i cant edit them or add text to them. You might be talking about the pictures i take with the camera hu? I hope that when i get the camera the pictures on my t226 dont look all messed up. does anyone know how they will look? OH ya, i cant send any MMS messages because Cingular are jerks and wont let prepaid people do it. i think its bull crap, they should just take it off my minutes. I tried to set it up myself, but i could never get it to go, lol. I would try to just put stuff in the settings, but i dont know what im doing. I wish there was a way that i can set it up and have MMS with my prepaid.

i think you can do it with T310. i saw something about welcome note in my menu. i'll check it out.
My Nokia 3210 welcome note was "pin incorrect sim blocked". i was suprised at the amount of ppl who thought they had blocked my phone

Nah, when he said "Welcome Message", I assume that he meant a message that you type into the phone, which shows up when you power your phone on. Am I right?
