You don't even need to use there software. If you got your IR software, it should connect just fine with the phone.

I remember I had to change some settings in XP to get the IrDa working with my t68i.
But I can't remember which settings...
anyone else? |

If you have the IrDA installed and working on the pc now.. then all you have to do is face the phone Ir to the Ir port.. and itll recognise it straight away - then youll see a little icon in the task bar (bottom right) so if u click on that.. itll let u send files of youre choice to the phone...

Yes of course i did!!
Only updated to Windows 98 very recently from 95 which didn't have infra red option. Maybe I need to do some fiddling about but was just hoping there would be a quick answer? The PC has infra built in so I would'nt need an adapter surely?
My PC is quite old so don't know if this has anything to do with it?

the error may br related to your setup for irDA. You may need to set the port settings to FIR(fast infrared) from SIR (slow...)
You may need to set these options on the BIOS.
Below is information which may help you solve your pc problem?
good luck!
____________
When you double-click the Infrared tool in Control Panel, you may receive the following error message: Internal Error 45: Your infrared software has encountered an error, check infrared software settings under network properties.
CAUSE:
This behavior can occur if the Fast Infrared Protocol is missing or damaged.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this behavior, remove and then reinstall the Fast Infrared Protocol. To do so, follow these steps:
1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click ControlPanel.
2. Double-click Network.
3. In the list of installed network components, click Fast Infrared Protocol, and then click Remove.
4. Restart your computer when you are prompted to do so.
5. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
6. Double-click Network.
7. On the Configuration tab, click Add.
8. Click Protocol, and then click Add.
9. In the Manufactures box, click Microsoft, click Fast Infrared Protocol in the Network Protocols box, and then click OK.
10. Click OK, and then restart your computer when you are prompted to do so.
MORE INFORMATION:
If you install an infrared device in Windows 98, the Fast Infrared Protocol is not installed by default. You must manually add the protocol in Network properties.
