i was so excited to hear about this. i've been with cingular since 1998. back then they were pacbell wireless. this company has gone nowhere but up and this officially makes them the largest wireless operator in the U.S. with i think like 37%.

For one, i am a bit dissipointed. I like my at&t. and i would have much rather have vodaphone come here. Not for the prices but for the phones. Bring the technology to America insted of cingulars cheap stuff. T-mobile is my best bet for new cheap phones in the US and the best thing they can offer me is the T610 which is not big news at all. |

If you've got AT&T or Cingular you can probably expect not changes for at least a year. These things take time.

There will be better coverage since both Cingular and AT&T used 1900/850 mhz bands. This will not be effective until at least late 4th quarter though. Meanwhile, AT&T is still rival to Cingular. |

I've been getting calls from customers asking if they're home now when their phone says Cingular. I'm just like "not yet".
