Esato allows remote linking to images alright, just not to images hosted on dodgy websites or indeed links to the site itself

it's the servers hosting the images which often are blocked for linking to the images from external site. Esato is not blocking external links to images (only to certain sites, but then use bbcode and put the images directly into the post)
