i've read the specs on the t230 and found out that its lcd is of the same one as that of the t68i but instead of 256 colors, it has 4k. i was wondering: can i replace the lcd of the t230 with the t68i? and if you could, will thare be any negative consequences?
i think that that would be cool because that would already improve a great mobile machine. all it needs now are polyphonics and java!

It depends on the phones fw. If you take out the LCD from T230 and put it in T68i you will still have 256 colors. :-D

I think it just like the computer monitor, no matter how modern of your monitor if you sett. to 256 colours so your monitor will display 256 colours too not to be 4K or 65K..

in other word, it's right that it is depend on the hardware..

you guys sure? is there no other possible way to upgrade the t68i's lcd display? i thought it was the amount of crystals that determine the number of colors on a display? also are there any third party software companies that could maybe upgrade /// or se products? same goes for hardware/accessories.
i just can't help think about it. i love the t68i. in fact i used to have two of them and recently sold the other. i think the only other phone that beats it (in my opinion) is the t610/630 and nokia's venerable 6 series. so any upgrades (hardware preferrably) info are pretty much welcome news to this diehard t68i fanatic.

No, there is no way for your t68i to display 4k colors. If you want more colors just buy a t610/630. :-)

@duo_m - yes the SCREEN can show 4096 colors. But the PHONE can't since the firmware (operating system/software in the phone) is programmed to show 256 colors.

i've consulted an se technician and she said that both lcd's are'nt compatible! but she said that it COULD be possible if i use the t610 or t230 fw but said again that it could do more harm than good for the unit since se builds specific hardware/software for each unit, MAYBE.
has anyone out there tried this? putting t610 or t230 fw in the t68i for color and systems upgrade?

Yeh, its like every1 says... It would work but only show 256 colours... But flashing it could be a possiblity.. coz they are nearly the same so nothing would come of it...?? Also, would than enable us T68i users to use mophun? If i had the money, I would try!
