T68m Screen Problems.. Check yours (plus more problems that I have experianced) |

OK I am on my forth T68 and I must admit the phone as heaps of problems, you have no Idea. But never the less its an Ericsson so what do you expect. I have just noticed with my phone and then I went back to the dealer on there phones there had the same thing, so I am just wondering weather its the same thing will all phones. I have the R2D005 software and I must admit there are still heaps of bugs and problems with my phone. But when you change themes to one like "Psychedelic" do you notice that when you go in the menus a faint but noticable white line goes down the screen in a few places. Now I would not have a idea weather this has anything to do with the theme or what but I notice it when I use a dark background aswell. But is it a problem with the screen or do all you guys have the same thing. Here is some of the problems that i have experianced with ericsson before.
TRUSTE ME IF YOU BUY ERICSSON YOU WILL REMEMBER YOUR CUSTOMER NUMBER AND DEALER VERY WELL AFTER NAGGING THEM TO TRY AND GET THINGS DONE.
Hey well you know we love the T68 but it has heaps of problems. I live in AUstralia and I thought that it might be something that I am doing but not anymore. The phone just got relised here and all, I am on my 4th so far and before that I had a T39 what was the biggest heap of shit that I ever bought. I Thought by upgrading to a T68m the problems might go away but no. Here is a bit of a list of the things that go wrong, and let me remind you people I use my phone for normal use and that I don't play the games nor use the GPRS heaps:
1. Phone resets all the time, it just does not want to stay on without having to reset without even using or touching the phone.
2. It freezes everything you do no matter what, making a call or using sms it will freeze then you have to pull the battery etc. Even going through the menu it crashes its like a bad version of WINDOWS.hehehe
3. The sound distorts at times, and like there is a really bad connection when there isn't. The line will drop out in full respection.
4. GPRS cause the phone to freeze, does not work at times, toooo slow at times and no working. (has nothing to do with the service provider cause i use the same sim in my nokia and that has no problems.
5. Talk time is pretty shit when it comes to having a conversations longer than an hour you know. This is by the way being 50 metres away from the tower cause its close to my work.
6. The joystick sometimes does not do what it is ment to, this is after like 10000 movements.
7. The Yes and NO buttons sometimes don't work you really have to press those little things to make it work.
8. THe volume button is becoming doggy and hard to use for some reason.
9. The phone will say that you have made a 6 hr call when you only talked for 2 minutes. This is so funny when it tells you at times how long your call has been and I have had it once say 88:34:21 what a joke hey.
10. A faint white line appears at times down the screen
11. THe talktime and standby time sucks even when in full reseption.
So these are some of the things that I have found with my phones, I keep getting them replaced cause its under the 30 day replacement thing, but hey even the software updates don't always fix the problems there is always something that is going worng, I never had this with any of my previous phones like my nokia. But what do you people think of these problems, Like i said I use it for normal use. Ericsson is pissing the shit of me at the moment I don't know what to do anymore they keep on making me travel 2 hours out of my way to get another phone without any compensation or anything and the problem does not get fixed. I had to spend an extra 300 to upgrade to the T68 after having the T39, which I must say anyone out there planning to get the T39 DON"T get it. In regards to the T68 well you see the problems the phone all looks great but the software was written by refugeeeee. If you read this Ericsson, the Australia Consumer Affairs is investegating and going to make it public of the problems encountered how phones are being relised with software issues without allowing consumer knowing before they purchase the phone. Its like Its' like i say the phone looks great on the outside, but like somethings in life (females) the inside is just as important. DOn't judge the phone by what it looks, the problems that are found in are amazing and Ericsson is just screwing everyone around I am on like 9 different phones through them now and I have not recieved any compensation for my troubles and I had to pay full amount to upgrade to the T68 from the T39 after I had 5 T39's in which I gave up on....
DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT I SHOULD DO ABOUT IT, AND WHERE I STAND.
I am planning to take them to small claims court and ask for damages, as thats what my lawyer advised me after these problems cause i Have missed important calls in the past and lost heaps of money from business deals cause my phone stuffs up etc. For a 1200 doller phone its the biggest hunk of shit I havef bought, although I want to keep one, I want one that works.
P.S. DO you know when you send back your phone in the 30day period they don't always replace yours with a new one, but second hand one called advanced replacement. So isn't that a joke. Truste me I talked to some people who worked in Ericsson and some of there durty tricks are amazing.
So what do you people think I should do....

wow, the problems you listed seems more like from a nokia phone. perhaps you should get a nokia instead. you might have better luck and beside why bother to try and fix it when you had so much problem, just get a nokia.

1. with r1b-r2b this happened occasionally, fixed in r2b025 (not a single crash for 1½ week)
2. happened once or twice but not in r2b025
3. fixed in r2b025
4. network problem (happened in the early gprs days but suddenly stopped)
5. GREAT talktime here
6. after 250000 movements on my old one it still worked perfectly
7. not here...
8. not here either
9. never seen that
10. or that
11. nor that
you are very unlucky  get a new one (yes again)

This is my third T68m and nothing that bad here with them, take it to the shop you bought it and change that mobile, T68´s are great fun not what you say about them. |

Yes those 2 white lines appear in the psychedelic theme only very true,the purple background with 2 white lines going down the middle,do you think Ericsson will change the phone for 2 lines running down the middle of the screen?????

the white lines are much easier to se when you put the black and white theme.

I had loads of problesm with My T68m's so I know what u mean.
Button probs - some didn't work
Joystick probs on two - kept skipping ect.
Slide button broke on one & sw died on another
Freezing in WAP to
Got a t68i now seems ok so far but the screen isn't quite as good as the m's but feels better built overall.
Oh and yes i've seen the line you have described on several of my previous m's - think this must be quite common and didn't bother me too much
Get it changed if i were u - i've done it enough.

This has got to be the motherload of all complaints for the T68 
No complaint here so far with R2D005 upgrade.
Your fourth replacement? Where you able to see the phone being replaced by a new one fresh from the box or do they go away and come back with a new unit? *cough* Master Reset * cough* (Maybe I'm just paranoid )

Yeah ok well those lines don't bother me that much and that cause i think its something that all phones have etc. But I just went to get another one took it home and when uploading my contacts guess what happened the phone reseted on my. OH and another thing when you go into the service test menu and do the test for the mic does it MAKE A REALLY LOUD SQUEEL NOISE LIKE THE EARPEACE IS GOING TO BLOW OFFFFFF. hehehe

My T68m sucked really big, had a lots of those problems you mentioned
And to my great joy and happiness, my new T68i feels almost rock solid. Havent even updated the SW to newest version yet.
