Bluetooth: v500 vs Z600 |

Which fone is better? I've heard that the v500 doesn't have full bluetooth eg can't transfer pics or sounds. Is that true?
Cheers

Well, I think Sony Ericsson make better phones in general. I was planning to get the Motorola V500 on Orange PAYG for £115 but I couldn't be bothered to wait until January (and it still ain't in stock yet!) so I went for the Sony Ericsson Z600 and I haven't regretted it, not even over the Samsung E700. |

Can't say anything about the bluetooth on the V500 but I can strongly recommend the Z600. |

I'll let you know as soon as I can get my bluetooth dongle I've got the V525 so I think it would be roughly the same with the V500 but with the crap Vodafone live menu.
I've checked the manual for the Moto - apparently y ou can mark several pictures to transfer thru bluetooth while the SE youcan only transfer one at a time. Will try it first... |

@morbodestroys - I've got the voda v525 too. You wanna unbrand it and get some goodies too? I've modded my V525 and now it thinks it's a V600. I flexed it with V600 (generic, unbranded) SW, and now not only is it unbranded, it also plays vids! In fact, it IS a V600 now, with the exception of ring/event lights and removable cover. Not only that, it's a bit faster too. If you want more info, let me know. It's actually pretty easy. |

Thanks! If you could gimmie more info it'll be much appreciated!
All i know is that i need a data cable (i'm waiting for an usb cable from ebay), motorola pst, and firmware and flexware.
I'm trying to get the V600 firmware - but i have been reading that there's ppl who upgrade both the flex and firmware have a camera bug and shoddy battery life. I'm not sure whether i should just upgrade the flex?

I've used bluetooth on a v500 and it's terrible, you have to turn on a 'find-me' function which activates BT for 60 seconds, then switches it off again (although I presume if it finds devices and starts communicating it stays on for longer). Go for a Z600, sending pics/sounds etc is impossible on the V500 but very possible on the Z600. |

rufiky: i dont think you're right with that. the find me thing is only for pairing and only operates for 60 seconds or something like that. it's kinda like how the t68i operates. there's no way (afaik anyways) that the motorola can be on and be 'visible' - so i dont think i can be bluejacked
when you've got your devices paired, you can turn on your bluetooth and then similar to all the se phones out there, it'll like dormant unless the phone or the paired device needs to connect to each other.
the bluetooth is not bad (read: it works) its just a bit different. say you take a couple of photos on the phone and you want to transfer it to your laptop you have several choices
you could use the phone - the moto has a 'move' and 'copy' options where you can mark several pictures and send them at a time. the difference between move and copy is that when you select 'move', it deletes the pic on your phone after sucessfully sending it to your laptop. 'copy' keeps a copy of the pic on your phone
otherwise you can use the laptop/usb dongle to browse your phone and get the files from there.
i haven't tried the phone with a bluetooth headset though. |

Woops. I'd still go for the Z600 though, as I see it it's easier to use. Sorry bout that folks

The BT stays on the V600 maybe its a bug but maybe its not ment to, there isn't any icon on the phone to let u know its activated but it has a blue flashing light on the front of the phone, its probally easy to BJ ;-)
