T68m Standby time varies largely on the reception of the net work! |

I switch on my phone at a location when the reception is only 3 bar or less(red), the standby time shows 186 hours.
I then switch off my phone and move myself to a place where reception is good(full bar/green) and I switch on my phone. The result is standby time of 226 hours!
The difference in reception of around 3 bars cost almost 40 hours of standby time!
The talktime remain the same during the test at the two locations.
Hence, i would conclude that one need to choose or have good mobile reception provider to have the phone to function in optimum form. Then better the coverage of the network provider the longer the phone is able to standby!
Location: Ang Mo Kio/Singapore
Network used: StarHub Singapore on GSM 1800MHz
Phone used: Ericsson T68m
Software Version: R2B
Anyone care to comment further?

switching the phone off and then on again can also loose / gain power. Not a very valid test im affraid. |

to test the talktime,
at different location make a conversation that last about 1-2 min and check the talktime indicator.
last time i start talking while still at home and it shows 2H left, then walk all the way out to the city and after 30min of chatting, i end my converstation and check to find out left with 5h+ of talktime. the reception in city area is at MAX while in my room is only 2bar. I wish my home is in the city.

So with 1900mh sim card you might have less than 250 hrs?? If you ever have a chance, try with Cingular's 1900mh sim card in LA and test out just how bad the receptions is here. I am guessing maybe 200 hours?? |
