G'day Everyone,
Would someone please tell me if a mobile phone purchased in China or Hong Kong will be compatible with the Australian mobile phone network. If so, is it just a matter of removing the sim card form the exisiting phone and placing it in the new phone.
Thanks for your help.

you don't really need a triband phone coz afak Australian gsm providers use 900 mhz and 1800 mhz. what you need is an unlocked/unblocked gsm phone that operates atleast at 900 mhz |

Can you alter the frequency of a gsm cellphone say a Nokia 3390 brought from the USA which run on a 1900 frequency to a frequency in the Philippines which is dual band 900/1800. I brought it to a technician but unluckily cannot do something about it.
