Hi all, im a proud new owner of a Sony Ericsson t610, and i have heard that Java support for it is not too good. This worries me slightly, as i was hoping to play commercial games like Prince of Persia and XIII, but will they work on my phone? Obviously, im not too disappointed as my phone really isn't a gaming machine, but it would be nice..

welcome to Esato! enjoy the T610

Here are a few T610/T630 Prince of Persia threads which may be of interest. Not sure what XIII is?

offtopic: if the brackley that you mention is the one in Northants then I went to Magdalen College School there as a border!

First of all welcome to esato. The t610 is a phone that is discussed on here every hour. Best thing to do would be to use the search option for the site.

XIII, if you're into console games you'll know it.
Also, is this prince of persia the new one (Sands of Time) or the original?
And finally, yes i do come from Brackley, in northants. I also know Magdalen, although it is no longer a boarding school. That is cool.
When did you go there, must have been a while ago.

can't help you any further with the games as I hardly get time to play them, but to answer the other. I was there from 73 to 79 for secondary education. those were the good old days!

I got a T610 and I'm really satisfied with it. But you are right about the T610s java, it's not the best but if you want to play Prince of Persia you can download a version with no lag at all at http://poprostu.art.pl/~bober/T610/ you can also find some other really good games [addsig]

Ok, i tried some version of Prince of Persia and it started up, said the main thing (Gamesoft) then quitted. Do you know about the compatabiltiy of games like Worms, and the Lord of the Ring game?
Just out of interest, why don't more companies support t610 java?
It is a really popular phone, loads of people i know have it and from what i've seen, it is SE, and even just Ericsson's most popular phone for ages! There are also lots of people like me who would lik to play games on there t610, im sure. Any developers out there, take note as there is a HUGE potential market to tap into!
