i just traded my t616 in for a new one the other day and noticed that it was alot faster than the old one. so i checked and it is r1b027. which, i think is probably the newest for t616s because it's a week 36. the picture bug is fixed as well. pictures that i took with the old one that were 30-50k are now around 10k. they are clearer too. also, the keypad lights are purple instead of blue!

it was the same with the T610. I had one in the first week they were available (about week 17 last year) and got a blue one in week 28 and although both were updated to the same firmware version, just comparing the speed of the standard screensaver showed the week 28 model to be much quicker.

cingular doesn't repair phones anymore. so if there's something i don't like about it, i just take it in and tell them. in this i dropped it a couple of times so it was sctatched up, loose, and the screen wasn't 100% so i just took it in and said that it freezes alot when i'm on the internet. they took my old one, gave me a new one, i transfered everything via infrared and walked out with a new phone. i've been doing this ever since i got my t68. as a bonus, the warranty starts over again everytime i exchang the phone.

Cingular's Warranty exchange policy will change very soon. They will now ask for a CC when doing a warranty exchange. If no problem was found with your fone, they will charge you the price of the fone to your CC...
