Hm, well I have successfully done this with several of my cassettes that I was not willing to buy CD's for. I had a cassette player with a headphone jack. Then I took that cassette, put it in the cassette player, and hooked it up to my computer PC. What I did, was took a double male end headphone cable (I don't think that this is the "Official Name), and plugged it into the headphone jack and the PC's microphone jack.
Because it's a direct connection, you don't have to worry about making noise, cause it won't record incoming noises. Once this connection is made, simply either use your PC's default recorder, or I think Windows Media Player, Real One, and other players can record. Record from the PC while the cassette player is playing. (By the way, recording it to the phone will take way too long, and is too hendersome.)
Hope that this helps!!!

Ayush, just go to any electronic store, and ask for a wire that will connect directly into a headphone jack, and into a microphone jack. Basically, it looks like a wire with two headphone jack connections at the end.

To record you can use the defalut windows recorder like ethan said or another program like windows media player or real one. the pc reconises the connection from the walkman, like it is a microphone, as you plug the walkman into the microphone socket. Then you push the play button on the walkman, then simply push the record button on the piece of software that you are using. however make sure that you don't have a program like winamp running as it will also record the sound from that.

I use Cakewalk. It is optimized for this kind of thing. Connect the device into the audio inputs of PC. Double click on the "volume" icon for windows. Make sure that the line in volume is up. Play a bit to make sure that you are getting volume in the Cakewalk program (there is help for this in the cakewalk program, as well.) Record. It will record as a wav file, so don't forget to convert to mp3 or wma. Also, don't forget to delete the wav file: they are huge. That happened to me one time, and I wondered why I had a song that was 85MB! |

I use nero to do this and use the double headphone jack plug. Nero is great 4 this as the player lets u set which line u want to record. It also has a wave editor so u can clean up bad quality tapes, which u have recorded. Also u can record straight from tape in to mp3,which saves pissing about. :-)
