i saw a guy using a nokia 8210 in a recent tv program. thing is the program was set in the u.s. and as the 8210 works on 900/1800Mhz it couldnt have been used in america. so is there a nokia phone that looks identical to 8210 but operates on the 1900MHZ band?

it was probably a 8290 or a 8260....

8210 works on 900 and 1800Mhz, 8610 on 1900Mhz.

8210 operates on 900 and 1800
8260 operates on pcs mode (at&t) USA
8290 operates on 1900 USA

Lots of models in the states that slightly differ to the European ones.no great differences though

i dont know why america has to use different frequency eversince... 1900... maybe thats the govt regulation.

korea, japan (i-mode).. using cdma, now, wcdma and cdma2000 system

now many other systems are being developed but gsm has the most no. of subscribers
