I'm a Benfica supporter.
This is a very sad day for me since one of our players Miki Fehér died during the match, sunday night.

From BBC:

Benfica striker dies

Feher won 25 caps for Hungary
Benfica's Hungarian international striker Miklos Feher has died after collapsing during a game on Sunday.
Feher suffered a heart attack during the league game between Benfica and Vitoria Guimaraes.

The 24-year-old was stretchered off the pitch and taken to hospital after he collapsed unconscious.

The game was stopped for 15 minutes as team doctors tried to resuscitate the player but he later died in hospital.

Fausto Fernandes, the clinic director of the Hospital da Senhora da Oliveira said in a statement: "At 2145 [local time] Miklos Feher, 24, was brought into emergency care with a cardiac arrest.

"Immediately, all emergency measures were taken. This lasted until 2310, without success, when the player was pronounced dead.

"The body of the unfortunate player will stay at the hospital where it will undergo an autopsy on Monday."

A minute's silence is expected to be observed before next weekend's matches in the Portugese league.

"We are all in deep shock and would first like to address his family and send our condolences," said Benfica spokesman Antonio Cunha Vaz.

"All the Benfica board and supporters are mourning our athlete, Miklos Feher."

Feher, who won 25 caps for Hungary, moved to Benfica in 2002 after four years at FC Porto, including loan spells at Salgueiros and Braga.

May he R.I.P.

To Miki:
May heaven goals fear you, as earth's did. We'll miss you.

It happened to a man city player before. That match was been shown live on tv as well. Same thing tho, heart attack. Our old football managers son, terry yorath, his son died of the same thing, aged 12

The 12 year old and the man city player i mentioned hadn't taken anything like that. It had something to do with a rare condition thats very hard to detect.

@Vlamm
Do not assume anything. And your phrase makes it look like a punishment (i'm sure that's not what you meant...).

Could've been an undetected heart (structural) problem.
As 75% of people, that died from heart problems under 25, have. [addsig]

It is most certainly not punishment for miki as most certainly he deserved to live a long and properous life

i do very strongly believe that the way all kinds of 'stimulants' are administrated to harm the body, in the sense that a deficiency that may not have ever surfaced to bother him did now because most likely his heart was pushed over the edge.

Say what you might, I think it is at least part, if not all, of the reason.
