Whilst flicking through the February 2004 edition of Personal Computer World magazine, I noticed this a little write-up on Bluejacking. The title of this write-up is used for the title of this thread.

-----------

Those junk adverts for penile extension or Sexy Sadie could soon be clogging your mobile phone courtesy of a new phenomenon called Bluejacking.
It uses a Bluetooth featuredesigned for exchanging ebusiness cards, and is beginning to be used for flirting or messaging in the way of texting.
But it is seen as a channel for adverts-either beamed to passers-by or 'viral', the process by which amusing promotions are passed between friends, says PR executive Stephen Waddington. It could also be used for dating and gaming.
Waddington warned that Bluejacking could backfire on marketers and in some instances might be illegal. He said: 'The world does not need Bluespam. It could be the easiest way yet to alienate swathes of customers'.

Apologies if this write-up has been quoted before
