is there anything called multimedia phone? |

one of my friends said that Nokia 6230 is
a multimedia phone
is that true, cuz i never heared about anything called
multimedia phone before??

well yes, photo sounds and text are different types of media and if theyre in one place then they are called multi media

the you could call P800, P900, T610, Z600, Z1010 for multimedia phones as well... all with the possibility to show pictures, play sounds, present text, animations etc etc... so no, there is not such thing as a multimedia phone, unless you wanna call (almost) all phones available today for a multimedia phone

I think that the 7700 is referred to by Nokia as a 'multimedia device'. Don't know about the 6230, though.

i want to be clear about something here,
can we call a phone a multimedia phone
when it has those capabilities?
or is it only a describsion for what the phone can do??
i know there is smartphone, clamshell, and the normal mobiles
which we use...
is there a catagory called multimedia phone ??

More like a description.. "multimedia" have been used to sell things since computers started to get popular in like '94-95.. no category like that.. just a way to tell that it can handle more then one kind of media.. like sounds and pictures.. i guess that all phones will be "multimedia phones" soon.. *just my 2 cents* |

It is only an expression that mobile stores use to sell their products since all new mobiles use the "latest technology" as they say.
