......mp3's to a motorola a835, I'm on mac os 8.6. I've tried Cbeam which happily sends jpg, gif, mid, wav etc, but if i try an mp3 it says file type not supported. And GSM remote says the phone doesn't support Irmc protocol or something, so I can't use that. Tried the USB cable with that as well, nothing happens. Does anyone know of any software for me?

If you're using Cbeam to send other filetypes, can't you just change the suffix (.mp3) to another filetype on before you send it, then change it back on the phone?

Of course, if you don't have a file manager on the phone, that won't help.

hoge, you can find c beam here:-

http://www.cpen.com/Download/software_upgrades/m5/s3

Just control click the download link and save link as, then drop it on stuffit expander when it's finished.

GSM Remote is also good for sending more file types, mophun included:-

Justin, could you recommend a filetype manager for motorola? Getting it on the phone would be hard though, 3 have their own wap service. Think I'd have to email it to the phone when they finally activate the sim.

I'm such a dummy. I'm using a mac, and since i don't need .mp3 at the end of files to play them, I totally forgot to add .mp3 to the somgs I tried. Now I did...........and they work perfect!! Stereo sound, ID tags and all. I guess that 64mb space will be filled after all

Can't explain why jave won't send though.
