Hi there,
Im thinking of buying the bluetooth headset, but would like to know
the exact advantages and disadvantages. I´m will be using especially for in-car use.
My questions are these :
1. Is it completely voice-controlled ?
- Voice answer
- Voice dialling
2. Does the "magic word" tric work or not" ?
3. Is it suitable for in-car use ?
- Is it loud enough
- Can people on the other end of the line hear me
4. Wat exactly is included in the package that u get ?
- Is there a charger ?
5. Does is work on standard batteries. or is an accu used ?
Any disadvantages ?
Thanks in advance u guys !!
Cheers ! |

Hi!
You'll find pretty much 'bout this when searching.
But I have a HBH-20, so I guess I can help you out.
By now, the HBH-20 just support voice-dialing, not -answering,
-rejecting, magic word or hearing the caller's name.
BUT: This will be possible after the upgrade. That's confirmed by people at the forum who actually has tried the HBH-20 after the upgrade.
The HBH-20 comes with a charger, two covers and the ear-piece.
The quality is quite good, and the sound (whitch can be controlled with the volume-buttons) is loud enough for it to be used in the car.
It just take 1-1.5 hours to charge it, and it last for days.. And it's using the same charger as the t68, so u can charge it in the car or wathever.
When you do a call, it's automatically done through the HBH-20. But if you press YES on the phone, you transfer the call to the phone. And then you can transfer it to the HBH-20 again, when pressing YES on the headset. This is funny when people are borrowing your phone for calls, you can just "steal" the call in the middle of the conversation..
Another good thing is that the system makes a connected hands-free (for example the mp3-player) part of the "phone". That means you can have the mp3-player connected, and still use the HBH-20. If you transfer the call to the phone, it's transfered to the mp3-handsfree.
But the HBH-20 has a tendency to "sparkel" and loose quality when moving. So if you're walking or something, the sound-quality would be decresed. And it ABSOLUTELY do not work properly within a range of 10 meters. And if the phone's in your car, you can't use it when standing right outside the car.
I conclude with the HBH-20 to be a very smart investment, but it works best when you carry the phone on you. It's amazing to be wire-less...!!!

I'm not sure if you meant 220 dollars, I could just see 220 and a square, but in Norway it cost 1999 NOK, about 234 USD or 258 EUR.
I gave 1709 NOK (200 USD / 220 EUR) for mine - and I know someone, so I guess you've got a fair price anyway...

I use the HBH-20 as well. Works quite good I think.
One thing that doesnt work is Magic word. Another thing is, it doesnt work either on any other Ericsson bluetooth headset.
Magic word works with wired headsets,..not bluetooth.
