Maybe not to like, but certainly worth listen to. Maybe he's radical and lots of what he says is close to being racistisc, but there's a reason that so many people voted for him. No other politicians dare to talk about the problems he's describing, cause when they do all the organisations shout: Racist!!! and a good discussion is going down the drain, but Le Pen has taken it up anyway, and people appreciate that. It startet in Austria with Haider, moved to Denmark and has now reached France.
So maybe he's not to like, but as long as he is the only one talking about the problem, he is the only one to vote for!
So instead of condemming him I think the politicians in France should open their eyes and realize that lots of people really think there is a problem, and start discussing it. If they do so I think Le Pen will disapper within some years again cause there's no need for him! |

It is entirely the fault of the French people. He half of the people who are protesting now voted when they had a chance there would not be any Le Pen racing for presidency....Politician underestimated the frustration they caused to the people. But shame on the French that didnt take their destiny seriously.Hope this woke some of them up...vive la France et les vrais français!Allez voter et soyez sages... ;-)

I think he means gangs, high unemployment, mafia, high crime rate, and Le Pen is using that to stereotype a certain race of people for those problems, instead of trying to work with this problem (Which is rather pathetic). |

This "Le Pen" problem has been around for quite a long time.
The last presidential election, they got around... 15-20%!! (I don't recall the exact figures). So it's not new.
But people are just hypocrits. Now, everybody is scandalized because Le Pen is going to the 2nd round. Reality finally showed up to the eyes of many who were just ignoring it before. A guilty one is certainly the press that hardly talked about Le Pen earlier, and they probably think they will feel more comfortable talking against him now. Hypocrits! This should have taken place much earlier. Socialists who -I'm happy- were so nicely kicked out in the first round are blaming the right side for having brought Le Pen. C'mon! Socialists (the government) would have done something earlier, the situation might not have been that bad. It's even them, the socialists, namely Mitterand (b*stard), who raised Le Pen in, was it 81?, so that socialists get relatively more vote than Chirac, hence ensure their victory. But blaming each other is no solution to the real problem. Rather than talking bullshit all the time, they should do things.
But politics do think about themselves first rather than thinking about the people who claim loud by their vote what the situation is. Now, French politics are in a deep crisis, and I hope the situation will finally turn good.
I'm not quite happy Le Pen got such a strong percentage. Yet, in a way I'm happy, because I do hope it will finally wake up many if not everybody. |

C'mon. Stop repeating what TV, newspapers say. This is bullshit!
There was a bit more than 60% of the population voting for this 1st round of the election. Even if some people didn't go and vote (which is contrary to the duty of every single French citizen, but nevermind, I don't care:) ) 6x% of people voting is a very reliable statistic data: this makes millions of people everywhere around France, and is therefore a very reliable sample of the population. 80% of votants wouldn't have changed anything. 100% wouldn't have changed anything either.
You will probably see the numbers in the 2nd round. More people will go voting, there is no doubt. And although I hope Le Pen score will be ridiculous, I'm almost certain it will still be about 20% (i.e. same as for the 1st round, cumulating both extreme rights candidates). |

I think he is a good guy to have around. Every country should have a radical like him - maybe not in the ruling seat but just to make people think how lucky they are to have a government that is not radical. That way they will appreciate the problems in other places where there are radical governments - like former Afghanistan and present Burma!
In most cases so call 'radical' politicians do make people sit up and think twice - what do you guys feel? |
