If you are talking about the Nokia Bluetooth Carkit, which i guess you are, I use one and I'm afraid it doesn't do this, and the Sony kit is unlikely to either.
If BT is switched off on the handset, how could the carkit connect to the handset to instruct the handset to switch on the BT so the carkit can connect to the handset?
Ooohh, thinking about that has given me a headache.

hi thanks for the reply
i am sure that this can be done on like a discoverable mode so when something looks for it it realises this and lets that device connect to it!
i am sure this can be done somehow maybe im wrong
but thanks for ya help all the same! |

Well the BT implementation in some of the older SE phones like the T39 and T68 had an "Automatic" mode which turned on BT and connected to the handsfree when a call was received or initiated by the handset (this mode does not allow calls to be initiated by the handsfree for voice dialling though, so if you don't have a cradle fitted and have to hold the phone in your hand to make or receive calls it's gonna be illegal to use the phone in the car under the new UK laws).
As far as I am aware the newer models do not have this operation mode, my T610 doesn't and I don't think the P900 does although you can easily check in the BT menu.
The Nokia BT implementation has never had this feature but it's not too much hassle to just switch on BT on the handset when you get in the car.
Best of luck! |
