Batterij nog kleiner
Mobiele telefoons kunnen nog kleiner en lichter worden dankzij een uitvinding van de Universiteit van Twenthe.
Op 5 april promoveerde Peter Bouwman op een batterij die vrijwel niets weegt en toch 4 volt afgeeft. De batterij bestaat uit 6 filmlaagjes en heeft de `massa' van een dubbeltje.
Ook het opladen gebeurt anders dan tot nu toe: in de magnetron. Bouwman denkt dat 5 minuten opladen in de magnetron voldoende is. De batterij kan zo'n duizend keer worden herladen. Hij kan in een chip worden ingebouwd.
De groep onderzoekers van de universiteit werkt nu aan een prototype met een antenne. Die zou kunnen worden ingebouwd in een volgsysteem zodat personen kunnen worden gevolgd zonder dat er op het lichaam iets aan ze te zien is.
A little translation:
Some dutch guy made his degree by making a new kind of battery for mobile phones. This battery is very small (the weight of a two euro cent coin) and exists of six layer of film. To load the battery you have to put it in the microwave (for real!!) the battery gives a 4 volt power.
The only problem now is that you can load it only for about thousand times.
This is something not to be seen on mobile phones in the next months but sounds very interesting.

How long time would it take to charge in a conventional owen? Or could you maybe use the toaster? I have a battery to a t39 I do not use anymore I will give it a few minutes in the microwave...I will report back later...;-)

That can be a very stupid idee but if you are willing to risk you battery and microwave and possible injury to yourself (keep looking in the window) go ahead! |

How much is it gonna cost?
How safe is it?
I prefer batteries that last for weeks and don't crap out after a couple of charges. The new fuel cell batteries last 10 times longer.
But I'll wait to see the finished products before making my mind up. |

yeah.. batteries will get better and better.. remember the first phones where they had to carry a large cell pack!! LOL... Glad I wasnt old enuff to have a phone then... or afford 1 i mean!!!
Im pleased with the standby and talktime of the T68 and i guess that in a years time, they be a batt out thatll be twice as good.
