question about simcards |

i have an account with cingular and i want my old number, i added a family talk plan since a friend of mine wanted to split the costs oft he service, but the newer phone is one of the newer sony ericsons and i want to switch out the new simcard that comes with that phone and put itin my hear old ericson and put my old simcard with my number on it to the new phone, i spoke with the customer service rep and she told me that i could put the old card in the new phone, but if i put the new card in the old phone it would fry the old phone, is this true? has cingular updated their simcard technology? | |

it will not cause any damage to your phone. However, using an old SIM card might result in lower standby time if the SIM card runs on 5V instead of 3V which the SIM cards runs on today. 3V SIM card came in the end of 1990s, so if your card is less then two years old it's a 3V card for sure. | |
