Hi All,

While browsing the web I found this white paper and I guess it might interest you all. We all know the < * * < menu by now to get into the unlocking mode. But when we try to unlock it asks for SPCK. I wondered what this meant.

Well I found the answer and SPCK means Service Provider Control Key. By entering this number we can unlock the SP lock. Apparently as per the white paper this number is stored in the Sim and the phone. So there must be some way to access this number.

To read more about the way the Service Provider lock works, and for that matter how all other locks work, read this link: http://www.arib.or.jp/IMT-2000/ARIB-spec/ARIB/22022-301.PDF

Its a good read, not too complicated and its quite short. So have fun.

In case anyone finds a way to determine the SPCK from the sim-card then do post it over here so everyone desiring to unlock their phones can do so.

Ta!

My further work on this reveals that the SPCK is a number that is atleast 6 digits long and it could be upto 16 digits. Anyone who has the logorithm of the Orange SPCK code could give us that software and that would help us in unlocking T68's

Mez no genius either! I used to be really good at hacking landlines and computers but when mobiles came I lost interest! Well I am from a place called Davangere, which is near Bangalore, which is in South India

I know India is hot! But so are the babes But hey, UK is so cold and freezing. I bet the temperature is not more than 10 degrees and it must be raining as usual over there!

Its currently about 15c temp wise here... and apparently when i was away in India it was hot and sunny all the time here!! (???) and touching nearly 20c sometimes... so they say. But still no where as near as hot as India was at nearly 40c!!!

Yep I know, the good part about India is you don't need mets to predict what the weather will be like. We have 3 months of summer, then rain, then winter and then rain. So we know what it is like at that time of the year.

How come you were in India? Do you travel a lot?

monsoon starts during the mid-May or latest by first week of June. And boy does it pour. I love the Indian rains... they are proper rains with thunderstorm and lightning and all. Unlike in London, I know it just drizzles constantly ... right?
