Hi, I from Malaysia and i bought this phone T68 in Singapore with 1 year warranty. When i went Malaysian Ericsson Service Center to upgrade my phone software. The technical person says that i will charged for the upgrade because Ericsson is no longer supporting the international warrantly, unless i have the singapore roaming sim card which can be claimed as travel warrantly.

What can i do now? Every single upgrade or replacement will be charged.

Santana,

I think what you described is sickening! I bought my first V-series clamshell phone in Hannover. Its LCD for some reason got damaged and Motorola Philippines helpdesk gave me exactly the same reason about international warranty. So I wrote Motorola in Germany and Motorola corporate. Strong words, I said. After 2 days, A senior person at Motorola Philippines called me up and asked me to bring the phone over, and after 15 minutes it has NEW LCD.

I hope this helps.

they should accept the phone no matter where you are providing you still have the original receipt. im also malaysian but studying in the philippines. I have no problem with my warranty claims. So far I have exchanged 4 t68 due to defects. It depends how you talk to the people in charge.

anyway, i love the ericsson service...........
i bought my t39 in dubai and all of a sudden... first thing i turn it on in india it conks off while charging.....
so i go to the local service stn and talk to them...... they get in touch with ericsson and in the next couple days i am on the roll with a brand new t39... no questions asked....
and i didnt even have the international "warranty card"..... i just explained to them that i was a student and buying the phone was an expensive proposition and they replaced it.....
how great is ericsson!!!
so far no problems with this new phone

here is a quote from warranty information:

International service
You can have your product serviced within the warranty period in any country where an identical product is sold by an authorized Ericsson distributor. To find out if your product is sold in the country you are in, please call the local Ericsson certified call center. In order to be granted service, you have to present your original receipt specifying the date of purchase and serial number. Please observe that certain services may not be possible elsewhere than in the country of original purchase, for example due to the fact that your product may have an interior or exterior which is different from equivalent models sold in other countries. It may not be possible to repair SIM-locked products.
