I just lost my unlocked SE T616 phone. So I want to get a new one. I'm prepared to pay a few hundred dollars to get something and I was wondering what new phones there are that are better and if there is anything coming out soon which is worth the wait.
Also, where do you suggest I buy the phone? I am in Los Angeles and I don’t know of any stores for phones (other than the carrier’s own store). Or I can buy online, but I don't know of any reputable companies (i heard of expansys, but it's in the UK). EBay seems good, but I don’t know what to trust on them -- some of those deals just seem too good to be true.

Thanks in advance for the help

P900 is good.

Try the SX1 from siemens, dunno if its tri-band tho.

6600 from Nokia is pretty decent as well.

Go check out the phones section at [http://www.esato.com/phones/] and key in ur requirements and you shall be okay with finding a new fone.

I'm member #100 on this website. I think!

I totally agree. Im absolutely in love with this phone. I started my mobile phone life with an Ericsson, then switched over to the Nokias when the Ericssons became boring.

When my 8210 died, i thought id take a look at the Ericssons again. Man, this z600 is one fantastic phone. Everything you need and then some !
Is this all it has ?

Have to agree, z600 is excellent. I you don't like clams, wait for T630.

Of course, we all take wild guesses at what it is that you want from your phone, based on the info that you had a T616 before. Any advice is of course useles until you share what features you want.

if you like clam-shell type phones....go for the z600!!! it's one hell of a great phone!!!

but on the other hand, if you like the candy bar like phones, go for the t630...better skip the nokias...i used to own a 9210 and traded it for a z600...never regret the decision...

Thanks for the replies

What I really want above all is a good phone that has bluetooth. I don't really want a P800/900 since I already have an ipaq and i'm happy with it. The camera feature was nice and I did end up using it (enven though when I bought it I thought I wouldn't). I need the internet on the phone.

My main problem with the t616 I had was that it had a bad battery life (i think it was b/c it had to keep the color screen on so long). On a "clam" pohone, I would think it would have a longer battery life.

I'm not sure if they did, but have the z600 and the t630 come out yet?I also read that t616 is better than the t630, but I heard from the service provider that the t616 is being phased out.

Also, where could I buy the phone unlocked to transfer to my service provider. I don't really want to buy the phone from the provider since most likely I'll have to sign a service agreement for one or two years. I don't mind buying the phone online, but as long as it is a reputable company. However, it would be nicer to go to a store in person in LA if there are any... Lastly, how much should I expect to pay for a z600, t630 or t610?

T610 about 300$
Z600 about 350$
T630 about 400$

i would go for a T630 and normally the battery of the T630 has improved, so your fine with that, but don't forget the Z600 is also a great phone
With Ericsson and Nokia gone: we must keep their spirits alive and buy JOLLA or YOTA

well certainly 6600 is alot better than t630 but it depnds if you need those extra features, if you have a pda take the t630 but if you don't have a pda take a 6600.....

as for the first poster: if you were happy with t616 take a t630 or z600 they are both great but if you want something better than consider buying a smartphone or even wait for cebit to see what the future holds

I didn't think there was a huge difference except that the 6600 can take movie clips. A fun thing to have, but of little use. I think I will go with the T630 as it's significantly smaller than the 6600. A key requirement for when I buy mobiles. Thanks for the input!

i think that a mmc card is a huge difference!
if a mobile phone has a mmc card you can have:
more programs and games (and thus bigger and better programs)
video, mp3, books etc...

Right about the mmc expansion cards!

But if you plan to keep your PDA, you won't need a phone with so much memory. a T610 or Z600 will compliment your PDA.
