I do not know if this has been posted before but I made an amazing discovery which could mean that my phone is a freak or that I have discovered an amazingly useless trick that can work with all T610s. I'm using R3C firmware by the way. Anyway.
Press right * left left * left * to go into the service menu.. Go to "Service settings > Contrast" and then increase or decrease the contrast to the limit. So the screen can go very very washed out or a dark blue. Then exit the service menu and turn your phone off. Then switch the phone back on and type your password if applicable and go back to the service menu and restore the normal contrast of the screen.
Now if successful, whenever the clock screensaver comes on it will retain the decreased or increased contrast that you had when you turned the phone off. So your clock screensaver can be really washed out or a dark dark blue. Amazing! Just something I noticed. The screensaver's contrast can be restored by simply turning your phone off and on again.
Ok well sorry for wasting your time if this doesn't work and if it does then maybe it could be useful, like maybe it would make the clock more visible when the backlight is turned off. I wouldn't know I haven't tried to make it more visible using this trick anyway.

This is because the contrast info is stored in eeprom when the phone is turned off.

Yeah as I said it is pointless but I thought it was cool I discovered something like that all by myself so I posted it. By the way I'm not claiming I discovered it first or anything haha.
I found it cuz I usually mess with people when they ask to play around on my phone and put the contrast up high or low to make it look screwed up, then tell them they broke my phone and they have to buy me a new one. They get so upset. Really funny. Then I tell them I'm joking but anyway the one time I switched the phone off before changing the contrast back and then changed it back after restarting the phone and the clock saver was still contrasted incorrectly so thats how I discovered it. SOOO interesting.
Anywayz I got a chrome face plate for my t610 today from DayDeal.com =D I'm really happy. My brother mapped out the infrared port in the front panel with a marker pen and drilled two tiny holes directly above it in the cover for the Sending and Receiving lights or whatever using a really fine drill head - so now my IRda works with my new cover. Looks really neat and my phone looks like a freaky toaster or something now. Haha. Sorry to bore you with details but I'm bored. =DOMx
