I have just got a NEW replacement phone from SE due to my first one being a lemon. The first phone was hardware R3A and had a manufacture date of 02w8. The second phone is a R1B, 02w10. how can this be so. Does R1B stand for the hardware version or is it a code to indicate where it was made? How can R3A be behind a R1B in the date of manufacture. What hardware and manufacture dates do you guys have.

R1B is the HW version. Its "older" than R3A or at least should be.
When improvements are done in design and tech. specs. they change the R-state on the product.
