T310 Battery Crisis..and other Issues(New Discovery!) |

You must have read some of my earlier post asking for help with my 310..Well guess what I have YET another problem!!!! Actually the problem existed since quite some time. OK my battry seems to last hardly one day!!! It is truly dissapointing because my friends have reported upto 5 days of batt. life but switchd off at nite..but usually heavy use of games, mms, etc. Another friend of mine has reported 2-3 days life with sometimes switched off at nite and not so heavy use of calls but sms. Ok heres my data...ok i do admit i use wap over gprs and mms regularly, but calls are scarce, and games are seldom. Now Yeah i dont switch off the phone at all ...but there's a reason. I cant do so, coz there's another problem comming up..i had mentioned this earlier but got no response whatsoever. Whenever i switch off my my phone and turn it back on i notice about 20-25% loss of batt. life..be it fully carged or whatever!!! This is so bugging and sad, i feel like crying. Am i just unlucky with cellphones or what. Just for example, when i had my 3530 i used it as heavily as this one but it lasted 2 decent neat days. Ok admitted it has 1000mah capacity, but my 310 has 700 mah li-po so i shld be getting a decent life!!! This is so unfair! Now i read somewhere that one should charge their batt for 4 hrs, irrespective of the batt indicator, can this be true and help me?? Actually this problem HD been reported to (SE)and they told me it was problem with phone, so they changed the main phone component. Still same crappy batt. life. But hold on until this time there was no prblem of that 20% loss of life as mentioned earlier. Only that crappy standby time. After that when i again reported to him, he was just not ready to listen to me, this is so irritating. They are so un-cooperative. OK BUT still he did change my battery this time, and i thouht my worries were over, but surprise surprise!! They weren't!!! But I thing i would like to say is that i noticed he just handed over another battery to me casually, with no documentation whatsoever (i asked him) What is the experience with you guys? Is a new battery given sealed and everything?? But of course the batt was genuine, coz the label and all was there and my phone shows "optimised charging" Now please tell me what is to be done Also it is to my knowledge that a new battery is exhorbitantly priced right?..WAAAAH..god help me or rather esatoians! Note the phone was purchased 29-8-03 and the main component changed on 13/10/03. Maybe this additional data helps u guys...ta

Here goes (not sure if this will help you, though). At some point I was an extreme GPRS user - meaning I hardly put my phone down. Battery life: 1-1.5 days (tops). So naturally I went to SE and demanded my batterry be tested. Which they did (with a Nokia contraption) and gave me the report it generated stating that the batterry is just peachy. Now the really interesting part: during my exams I used the phone a whole lot less (close to zero). The battery lasted for 10 days. Which no Nokia will EVER give you.

That has also been reported by the majority of users. It's an issue that goes back to T20 and T39 (which I still have). After switching your phone off and then back on you are most likely to loose 1 or 2 bars from the battery meter. No biggie! Also remember that GPRS is probably more demanding on the battery than ordinary voice traffic. For one thing, the light doesn't go off (during a WAP session). I'm afraid that your battery is most likely fine - you just need to come to terms with its running time!

I suggest that you (temporarily) swap batteries with your friend. See if the same thing happens...
...if the exact same thing happens, then you are now sure that there is nothing wrong with your battery.
...if your friends battery gives a longer run time on your phone, then there is something wrong with your battery.
This would give you a basis for complaining to about your hardware, or at least give you some peace of mind.
Hope you resolve this 'issue' with your phone.

I have to ask, but is this such a bit major issue? I mean I can understand why your annoyed, but its not like your phones doesn't last a day right? You can get through a day using the features you want to use without the battery dying on you right? So would it be such a problem for example to maybe buy a deskstand for your phone then just put it on there whenever you are at home so your phone is then charging, then just leave it on there over night so it gets a charge. Then thats the problem solved yes? I mean I have a deskstand and I just put my phone on there and I don't really see it as charging. I just put it on there and forget about the battery life, I never really look at it and its never died on me even when I use my T610 alot (camera, wap, lots of sms etc).

I hada similiar problem with m T68i and it turned out that a battery cell was broken. Buy a new battery or just tell the shop you bought it from and get a new one (if it's under warranty).

1st,go test ur battery then swap it with ur friend if u want to see if u get more juice from him. Having a li-pol battery i don't know why u complain-just charge it over nite. I have a real problem now-i hardly leave the phone from hand(calls and wap gprs) and my battery lasts 8-9 hours tops. Now THIS is a real problem as i dont get home on time to charge it..AND my charger has a short fuse somewhere and turns off my phone when i put it on charge. So i have to stop using it while on charge...damn!

I CAN leave it to charge over night??? But i hear a ticking sound comming from the battery while on charge..and it stops when charging is done...so if i leave it overnite is it doing any good?? The circuts cut off themselve right? And i think the battery power comming down considerable is not normal right?..after switching off? I'm now scared to switch off my phone..now its on 24/7!! Ok right...i would test it with my friends battery..and if its super then i can know theres fault wit
a)phone
b)chrager
c)electricty suply in house
Moreover, what if YOU/I conclude that phone's bogus....i have to haggle with The guys here just wont listen..they start shouting, they say the most funniest and ridicules t things. The other day he told me you can transfer mophun games from PHONE to PHONE via IR!!!
So what do i have top do...write to ?? ...go to consumer forum??.. NAAH!

Ok guys..heres what I have decided. I'll be going to tommorow 1st thingy in the morning and would be having a chat with him MAN to MAN. I've had nuff of this and I'm gonna put my foot down once and for all. I'm going to tell my three prblems to him i.e.:
a)Battery reducing after switch-on.
b)Phone takes to much time time to startup (40-50 secs.)
c)Phone being detected as a T300!!! On wapsites and no indication of model when slider operated in standby.
Ok if he dis-agrees with me/shouts/screams/Does not do what's he supposed to do I think I'll be writing to and will be letting him know so.
So what do you guys think?? Any tips to win the battle and have a peaceful mind??
