As I recall with the older Palm OS devices, can't you only store properitary .pdb database files in main memory? Image viewers etc. on Visor's and other olde Palm OS devices work by converting the file on the PC to a valid Palm database format before copying them to the device. At least that's how it worked on my old Visor Deluxe (v3.1H3).

So when you try and beam the image you are trying to beam a .pdb file which the phone doesn't know what to do with. Perhaps the Visor has realised that it is being instructed to beam to a non-Pam OS device and won't transmit the file because the recieving device wouldn't be able to read it anyway.

Suggestion - get a PDA like a PocketPC that stores images as their native format! Some of the Sony Clie's and Palm OS devices that have expansion slots store files in the native format on the expansion card AFAIK.

The old Visor's were good a few years ago and are now okay for basic stuff, like an address book etc. but not really all that much else. I moved to PocketPC about a year ago and have never looked back. The integration with Windows is much more natural.

I don't know, to be honest. Do you have a Springboard flash card you can use, or borrow one from a friend to see if it works? They can be hard to get hold of now the Visors are pretty much obselete and unsupported by Handspring. Except for eBay of course.

I'm not sure what the procedure is for getting files onto Springboards. If it shows up as an external drive in Windows and you can drag and drop any old files onto it, then there is a fair chance of it working. If, however, the file needs to go to main memory first and then the user has to copy it using File Mover (file manager program that comes with Springboard flash cards) then it probably won't, as to get the file onto main memory you would have to convert it to Palm format first.

Are you particuarly attached to the Visor? I think you would have more luck with a new PalmOS 5 device, like a Zire 71 which is the "entry level" OS5 device. That thing supports SD cards. At least if you got one of those, you could use a USB card reader to drop your JPEGs onto the card, then insert the card into the Zire 71 and beam them. Or if you can access the card inside the Zire from Windows, then just drag-n-drop.

Welcome to Esato, btw
