Hi fellows,

Tomorrow finally, I'll bring my T68i (R2D) to upgrade the firmware. So, which is the current one (I'm in Brasil)? There is any speed improvement, signal reception gain, more estability??I backed up the whole thing using FMA (God Blest FMA!), but anyway, should I be worried about loose all my contacts and/or my settings?

Thanks! [addsig]

Hi

I had my firmware upgraded from R2E006 to the latest version, R8A015 (in Australia). I lost all of my contacts, messages, call lists etc, however my operator account settings (GPRS, WAP etc..) remained. I had a backup of everything which restored just fine.

For more info about R8A015:

In rare cases that happens. I've heard and seen that data is intact

Yes, thanks for making that clear. I have also heard that in most cases the firmware upgrade does not cause loss of settings, messages etc.

However, I suspect there is a good chance that it will happen if you are updating from older firmware, i.e mine was R2E006, and the fellow in this thread has R2D... (even older). I'm guessing in later firmware revisions there was something added to prevent this from happening.

I would do a backup anyway.
