Car-100 Owners - Modifications are possible |

Just wanted to let you all know that the engine and tires (rear only) can be changed on the car 100. You can even change the body if you are good with a dremmel. Here is the deal.
The car-100 is no different than some of the Micro RC cars on the market (www.microrccars.com). All the motors are interchangeable between the Microsizer and Zip Zap Models. The motors are cheap, around 10 dollars for a couple with different speeds. Additionally, you can buy new bodies, that with a little manipulation can be made to fit.
To remove the rear axle, just snap it out away from the car. TO change the motor, take off the shell and remove all four screws. Then gently pull the circuit board away from the car. It disconnects easily. Next, pry the little motor holder away from the car using the side closest to the capacitor or battery. Then pop out the motor and change up. I just changed my motor and it is now much faster. Tomorrow I will work on the body. |

Its not an issue if it has bluetooth or not, its whether the firmware in the phone has the ability to control the car once its been paired, and only phones have that capability in their firmware

A couple more notes....The best series of motors I have found so far come from www.zipzaps.com where you will find the gear sets and motors. There is a 3600 rpm NOS motor that I am gonna buy and strap it on to this baby....
When you buy a new body, look for one that has a relatively tall cabin so that the antenna can fit. Some of the bodies have a short roof line so to speak and will create problems when trying to fit them.
Finally, I had to drill a hole in the back to accomodate the on/off buttong which by the way, I removed the little thingy that sits around it with the silver stripes.
ENJOY and post your pics.... |
