Attention all users of T68, ever since I started using the T68, I have been getting feedback from friends saying when they call me there is always a message 'Number dialled is not available. Please try again later.' I actually did try calling myself from a fixed line and true enough my T68 sat right there in front me with full signal for reception but totally no response at all and I got the same no response message! I read somewhere else in this forum some others got the same problem. Any one out there with the same problem? Pls test it out sometimes and you will know what I mean. I have already upgraded to R1C.

I have R1B and only experienced this problem after an unsuccessful GPRS session. If I do not use GPRS, the problem does not happen.

Maybe I'm lucky.

It still happens with 'GSM only' selected. Very irritating!

Hi, the problem occurs when GPRS hangs (which it does where I live, due to Nokia equipment in the network . This leads to the most annoying problems with the T68:
- you're not reachable
- you can't call, WAP etc
- you can't shutdown (takes about half an hour)
- battery is drained
- there is no indication that the problems have occured

The only "fast" solution to the problem is to remove the battery. It is however possible to make the problems less frequent:
- set timeout in WAP to 30 seconds (used to be 150 seconds)
- don't use automatic mail retrieval, GPRS usage might hang the phone...
- NEVER press NO when a WAP page is loading...
- if WAP stops working, try rebooting the phone...

Yesterday I got fed up and mailed -support about this. Waiting for a response...
...it's a pity that these problems occur - the phone is great when working!

My girlfriend had this problem with her Nokia. She called vodafone (the service provider) and they said it was because the phone kept dropping off the network - it shows full reception, but she cannot recieve calls. Also the area code (cell information) is not shown on the display when she has this problem.

Vodafone's solution was whenever this happens she needs to do a new network search. Annoying, but her phone is old and out of warentee

On yes, it used to happen to me after a long drive home. Thought there were network problem and one day I brought my Nokia 6150 along to verify. Guess what, Nokia 6150 can make call but not T68. But, recently, I dropped my T68 and suprisingly, it can make call after the long drive...hahah....not sure why...but no matter what, I will get the software upgraded soon.

Just curious, is R1C stable?

I had just these problems with my T68, then I replaced it with a new one(after a phone-call with ericsson), after that, no problem at all. Eh, well, except some provider/t68/gprs/wap combo that i hope R1C will fix. I have R1B now.
