Alright, If there's a post already like this link me to it and don't give me shit I don't have time for it =)
Anyway.. I read on the forum in several places that in order to upgrade your firmware it must be under warrenty and you have to go to the cingular store to get it updated?
Well I went to my Cingular store on my lunch break, and the idiot there had no freaking clue what I was talking about. He said "Firmware? What's that?" so I explained it to him, knowing that he would know how to update it, so he went to the SE site trying to scramble for an answer to get me on my way and seemed he stumbled upon a page @ SonyEricsson.com that had downloadable firmware updates and explained to me if I had a BlueTooth connector like I told him I had I could update it myself.
I didn't believe him, but I humored him and left the store with a smile, so.. give it to me straight boys, is this dumbass really a dumbass? or am I the dumbass?

1. You can go to any authorized reseller or service point/center for upgrades.
2. You are right. The person you spoke to is clueless.

In Regards to that ^ dudes post, Uhm.. I've never seen a certified SE reseller... I just have service stores around here like Verizon, AT&T and Cingular..
I think I might be the dumbass..
How can I update the mobile's firmware at home
Please contact a service point / technical center to upgrade the firmware.
SE says that, Cingular obviously isn't a service point or tech center, uhm.. Still doesn't answer how he found a page on SE that had firmware updates.

Heh, Like I said before I have never in my life seen a Sony Ericsson specific store/kiosk, I'll make some phone calls, it's not that big of a deal.
I think it's rediculous that you can't update firmware yourself, I have everything needed. Rediculous. |

I have experienced the same thing whenever I'm in Manhattan. I couldn't find an service center. I guess you'd have to e-mail for the location of the nearest one.
for now, has online (via internet) firmware updates for the P9. But you have to use the included cradle to do this. Nobody's sure if will eventually expand this to include other phone models.
